The Power over Ethernet (PoE) Advantage
PoE is a network standard based on IEEE 802.3af that delivers DC power to Ethernet connected devices.
PoE eliminates the need for wall transformers, allows centralized PS backup, and is fully compatible with powered and non-powered 10/100BaseT Ethernet devices.
PoE can be enabled on an existing network by placing simple idspan solutions (available from most network equipment vendors) in a switch room or at an endpoint.
